this is the second book of a series (the first is called “sleeping giants”) but what i like most about this science fiction series is that if you accept the idea that we are not alone in the universe [so, aliens exist] then the series is almost completely plausible. it is written in an interesting format consisting of things like interviews, call logs, and news reports, so you get a multi-faceted point of view of each event. it addresses science and technology, but also the human experience. ultimately, it rings true.
i guess that’s all any of us can ask for.
